I Just Can't Stay Away from the U.P.!

Took the trailer to relax in Cedarville at Loons Point Campground and Aune Osborne Campground in Sault Ste. Marie in August. Then my usual 2-weeks-before-brilliant-Fall-color-tour in late September, early October, around Lake Michigan through Wisconsin to Duluth and back East into Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Loons Point is right on the water across from LaSalle Island in the Le Cheneaux island chain, where I met with friends and enjoyed a relaxed getaway with my dog, Rosie.
What's unique at the Soo campground is its location on the St. Marys River, directly across from Canada with Sugar Island to the East. It is the transportation corridor for all ships transitioning through the Soo Locks connecting Lake Huron and Lake Superior.
First Nations history in that area is abundant, fascinating, and while there, I read and enjoyed Firekeeper's Daughter. Going back, for sure!
